| While the conventions listed through the
1920s indicate the locations of the annual meetings of the
Grand Camp of Confederate Veterans of Virginia, the Virginia
Division, Sons of Confederate Veterans met simultaneously at
the same towns and usually in the same facilities as the veterans. Additionally,
while the United Sons of Confederate Veterans (later the Sons
of Confederate Veterans) did not officially come into existence
until 1896, there were Sons and some early pre-organizational
camps of Sons in attendance at the earlier meetings from 1888
- 1895. Some of these conventions are shown above in the
chart.
