The Tennessee Division asked if we would post this information regarding
their Smoky Mountain Relic Show next August. This is a joint event
between the City of Pigeon Forge, TN and the Tennessee Division, SCV and
it is a new venture for them. They are inviting SCV members to attend
and those who are WBTS relic vendors who might wish to set-up a table at
the event. Additional reminders will be sent out next year as the event
gets closer.
John Sawyer, Commander
Virginia Division SCV

*The Smoky Mountain Relic Show will be held 27-29 Aug, '10 at the Smoky
Mountain Convention Center, 4010 Parkway, Pigeon Forge adjacent to the
Ramada. Friday, the 27th will be a set-up date, the show will actually
be on Sat & Sun, 28-29 Aug. *
*Mr. Mike Kent of Mike Kent Productions is consulting with us on this
event and will be bringing in several vendors he is associated with.
With this in mind I would like to include vendors who are also SCV
members. Should you fall into this category I would like to invite you
to join us. Please feel free to contact me at your earliest possible
convenience.*
*Sales spaces, booths, are 8' x 5' and are $80.00 each.*
*About the venue, inside the center we will have approx. 100 vendor
spaces, booths There will be a stage available and I plan to have the
ladies from a local UDC Chapter do fashion shows and other period
demonstrations. Also Gen Lee (David Chaltas) and his group will be
joining us to mingle with our guests. Also at the center we will have
on station the full scale replica of the CSS Hunley. Behind the center
on a hill there will be a Confederate and Union living history camps.
Also, I plan to have artillery pieces to make a little noise. I have
two guns confirmed and if possible would like to have 10-12 total. Our
re-enactors will be the 63rd TN Inf (CS) and the 8th TN Vol Inf (US).
Lest I forget NC's very own H. K. Edgerton will pay us a visit as well.*
*This event, if successful, will be held annually. TN Division
Commander Michael Bradley has designated it as the first official event
of the TN Division's Sesquicentennial celebration. Should all go well
by 2013 we hope to have, in another nearby location, a full scale
re-enactment. Pigeon Forge is COMPLETELY behind our efforts as they
contacted us with the idea. *
*If you know anything about Pigeon Forge you know it is definitely a
family fun destination with rides, shows and shopping to satisfy every
member of your family. /So, come on, buy a booth, bring the family and
enjoy East Tennessee hospitality for a weekend. See ya there!!/*
