Patrick Falci, who was our guest speaker at the Lee-Jackson Day
Observance in Ashland last Friday evening, asked me to post this
invitation to all SCV members in Virginia to attend the memorial
ceremony of the 145th Anniversary of the death of Lt. General A.P. Hill.
Mr. Falci portrayed A.P. Hill in the movie Gettysburg and will once
again join us in Virginia on April 2nd. I was able to attend this
memorial ceremony last year and it is an experience that I will always
remember. I hope you will be able to attend this year to share the
experience. Additional information on the exact location of the ceremony
and driving directions will be posted as soon as they are available.
John Sawyer, Commander
Virginia Division SCV

Dear Compatriots:
Friday, April 2nd, 2010 will mark the 145th anniversary of the death of
Lt. Gen. A.P. Hill. As I have done since 2000, I will hold a special
memorial ceremony at the Petersburg deathsite of our beloved general. We
will honor the general at 12:00 p.m. This should give all those who wish
to attend time to make arrangements.
For anyone in the Richmond area, we will also be laying a wreath this
year at Gen. Hill's monument at Laburnum Ave. and Hermitage Rd. at 10:30
that morning.
All members of the A.P. Hill Camp 167, the Norfolk County Grays Camp
1549, the Cold Harbor Guard Camp 1764, the Dearing-Beauregard Camp 1813,
and all SCV camps and interested parties are welcome to attend the
ceremony as we remember the life of an American hero.
All are welcome.
Lest we forget,
Patrick Falci
